Route 50 Pipe Failure Construction
I just wanted to give everyone a heads up on this who lives in the Fair Oaks area or accesses 50 West from 66.
Information from VDOT and Penderbrook.com: Area 3 is having a roadway failure due to a collapsed pipe on Rt. 50 West Bound between the I-66 interchange and the West Ox Interchange. We have an emergency contract in place and the crews are currently stock piling and ordering the necessary pipe to replace this failing structure. The results of this work will impact motorists on Rt 50 beginning on 11/30/10 to 12/13/10. Based on the heavy volumes of traffic on 50 this work will be performed at night between 9pm and 5am (Sunday thru Thursday nights).
Message boards are being placed on both Interstate 66 and Rt. 50 to alert the traveling public and it is also our intent to broadcast this event to the media and other information sources.
